The soul is like a violin: it makes music only when it is stretched.
Growing up in Washington State in the 70s was a much simpler time. There were amazing cars, pinball arcades, and the vibrant, jazzy sounds of Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass playing day in and day out on my record player. It’s definitely a time I long to go back to. My father was a fiddle player, and some of my earliest memories are of me attempting to drag his fiddle across the floor and play it. Being the young boy I was, the bow was bigger than me! I’ve always been able to hear music in a more complex, mosaic way. I have autism and while my autism has made communication in a conventional way more difficult, my music has allowed me to convey feelings that I struggled with and could only dream of previously. My wife often tells me that my music creates sweet tales of harmony. She will often ask me to tell her a story and she says the best ones are told through my instruments. I hope to be able to continue to share my musical stories with all walks of life.
